From 10 October to 30 November 2015, PRC Repubbliche curated the design and realisation of the international exhibition ‘Nel mezzo del mezzo’, an event that celebrated the Mediterranean as a crossroads of cultures and a world cultural laboratory.
The exhibition involved over 180 artists from all the Mediterranean countries, with a display spread across five prestigious museum venues in Palermo: the Polo Museale Regionale Palazzo Riso, the Chapel of the Coronation, Palazzo Sant’Elia, the Albergo delle Povere and Palazzo delle Aquile. Each venue was set up with an ad hoc design to enhance the works and create an immersive experience for visitors.
The event was curated by internationally renowned experts, including Christine Macel of the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Marco Bazzini, art historian and critic, and Bartomeu Mari of the Macba Museum in Barcelona.
‘Nel mezzo del mezzo’ represented a cultural moment of the highest profile, recounting the vitality of the Mediterranean through art, history and contemporaneity, and consolidating Palermo as a cultural capital open to international dialogue.
